Pietraporzia Municipal Nursery

The New Nursery School in Frascati is a Milestone in Research on Spaces Dedicated to Children that Has been Ongoing since the Beginning of 2000. It is the First one Built after the Completion of the Study Conducted for the Tuscany Region and Published as a Guide to the Design of Educational Services for Early Childhood.
the “Building is Conceived as an Educational Tool. Materials and Construction Elements Compose a Welcoming Place, Rich in Opportunities for Children.
all Main Environments are Arranged around a Patio Open towards the Garden. The Three Sections Face South, onto a Loggia that Protects from Sun and Rain.
the Center of the Nursery is a Small Square in Continuity with the Patio. It is Partly Double-Height, Partly Lowered by a Mezzanine where the” Only Room on the Second Level is Located. From the Square, one Can Access Three Workshops Equipped for Drawing, Painting, Manipulation, and Theater.
the Garden is Designed with Natural Elements, Surfaces, and Paths Designed to Offer Opportunities for Discovery and Play.
the Pietraporzia Nursery Was Selected for the INARCH RomArchitettura 2010 Award and Published in Numerous Books and Magazines; among Others, in Casabella 810, Edilizia Popolare 284-285, AR 92.
