Beleduc is part of the Hape group. The project for a new line of furniture for preschools was developed in China, for the global market, starting from South-East Asia and Oceania.
The goal is to build serene and bright environments, suitable for welcoming children.
Children are the center of the design.
The furnishings give shape to the space where children move, live, play and express themselves.
Furniture should create space, not take up space. There are no decorations or lots of colors. The environment awaits the colors of children, awaits drawings and compositions made by children.
The new furnishings are linear and modern. The appearance is not childish. The shapes are inspired by Italian humanistic culture, Scandinavian design, Japanese minimalism.
A clear geometry guides the design. Horizontal lines, squares, circles are the basis of the design of each object. The elementary shapes are understandable, they communicate a sense of order, they convey serenity.
Each element of the new series is made of two material-colours: wood and white. Wood and white interact to build volumes.
Gray is added to wood and white. Non-color color that makes light and shadow effects.
Wood, white and gray are the background of children’s 1,000 colors.
Three particular colors – a blue, a green, a yellow – are chromatic accents that are found only in some pieces of the furniture line.
